She was born in 1800 in Madison Co, KY. She was a well-educated Presbyterian governess. She became governess for the spoiled James Marion "Jimmy" Gentry. The two married in 1824. They had three daughters and three sons. Jane died in 1880 in Morgan Co, IL. Jimmy died nine years later in Bates Co, MO. Can anyone confirm her parents' names and tell me a little more about them? Henry Davenport was their friend prior to Illinois and 3 marriages resulted between their children. Don't know if David Elliott/Betsy Davenport are in any way related.
