If you are interested in following up on this, there is now a Schaaf Piano Supply Co. in Lake Zurich, IL which I would guess is the successor to the "Adam Schaaf of Chicago" that you mention. It is at least possible that some information could be found there if needed. The present day Schaaf....Co. is a supplier to piano tuners and technicians, not a piano maker. Hope this helps. Gary
