Folks I've found a record of a marriage bond for William J Elliott and Mary B Douglass for Rockingham County, North Carolina (22 May 1847) and am trying to find any further information to see if these are my g-g-grandparents. My g-father Samuel Douglas Elliott was born in 1854 in South Carolina to a Wm J Elliott (from Scotland) and Mary B. Douglas(s) from Virginia. I have nothing yet to confirm that the William Elliott and Mary Douglass married in NC are the same people but would be interested to know if these names are familiar to any one else on the list. I'd also be grateful for advice on how to get a copy of Samuel's birth certificate from the SC records, and/or a copy of the marriage bond (I know the bond number).
