John and Eliza, his wife, were born in Ireland (him in 1814 and her in 1819). I believe they were Scotch-Irish. I think they came to American during the 1830's. They lived in Marshall County (which is now part of Fauquier County), Virginia in 1860. I think they moved to Virginia about 1844 or 1845 from Pennsylvania.
