My Great-grandmother had two brothers who we haven't been able to trace. They were both born in the Detroit, MI area, which is not all that far from Lunenburg. He was married to Mary Cordis 1891-1974 and would like more information on her family as well. Their children are listed on the census as being Dashs, Bell, Alice, Harry,Thelma, and Maxine. They were living in Nebraska. On the census had his father's birthplace listed as Pennsylvania as well as his mothers but then in the 1920 and 1930's census has his father's listed as Illinos. His daughter Alice married into the Boeh family that is listed as living near them. Thank you so much! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. You were in Borneo at the time. I'm descended from William's sister Mary who came to Australia in 1855. I've just stumbled across an 1821 Census for Drumduff in Fermanagh which has an Andrew ELLIOTT, aged 15 with parents & siblings that match his own children's names - Mary, James, Jane, Thomas, William & George. I'm all but certain it's our family. You should be able to find it using Google: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nirfer/volin_cen_2.htm#Drumduff I notice you have Jane ELLIOTT's surname in one of your posts. How did you find this? Author: maxandmolly76 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.elliott/4437.10.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am just beginning my research into both my Elliott sides. Both my parents were named ELLIOTT when they met. On my father's side, I've traced back as far as a David Marshall Elliott (my ggg grandfather), born in 1824 in Fredricksburg, Maryland, married Mary Emily Updike in 1856, and by the 1880 census was in Bloom, Ohio. I have so far been unable to find the parents of David Marshall Elliott in my research. I'm hoping someone here has some information for me or a direction to go in. Our family oral history says the line came directly from either Scotland or Ireland, in the 1600s or 1700s, depending on which relative I ask. There was a family Bible, but it wound up with one of my dad's cousins, who I haven't been able to track down. On my mother's side, her father was adopted (although not legally) by a William Eegene Elliott b 1898 in either MI or CA, m Grace (maiden name unknown), date of marriage unknown. I haven't been able to find anything on either one. They were my great grandparents. Any and all help and direction is appreciated!
