Roland, Isaac ELLIOTT sr. daughter Elizabeth married a William MCCALL. Isaac ELLIOTT sr, daughter Alice married Joseph MCCALL this could very well be where the middle name McCall came from. Judy
Looking for any Elliott and Houseman marriages. I'm desperate. In particular need a Rachel Elliott, supposedly born in Pennsylvania- which happens to cover many, many counties. Bettye, I don't really think therse are of the same family as my ELLIOTTs. my first Isaac ELLIOTT was born in 1756.and his father was Benjamin ELLIOTT. Benjamin ELLIOTT was born in 1720 in Pa. married Ann WALL, and died 15 Feb, 1803 in York Co. Pa. John ELLIOTT is the father of Benjamin ELLIOTT. I have been told that Benjamin did have a son William ELLIOTT. But as you can see these would have been born much later than your Isaac and William. Perhaps I am missing something? Judy

I thought this may be of interest to some. Take care, Richard Ellis Island Records Go Online -- More Fuel for the Genealogy Boom CINCINNATI, April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- On April 17, the Ellis Island records of the ancestors of more than 100 million Americans will become widely available for the first time. Until now, the immigration documents of the 17 million people who entered America through the famed ``island of hope, island of tears'' have been accessible only on microfilm. But Tuesday's opening of the American Family Immigration History Center on Ellis Island -- and its companion Web site at www.ellisislandrecords.org -- puts the actual ship passenger logs showing these immigrant ancestors at researchers' fingertips.
I have William "Billy" Elliott, born around 1750. He lived in Greenville District of South Carolina. Married to Cherokee woman named Jemima or Gemima. Billy fought as an Over Mountain Man at the Battle of King's Mountain. He could have come from Virginia, but some vague info that I have says he was a Scottish Highlander. I have been told that all Elliotts were Lowlanders. This leaves me "high and dry" or should it be "low and dry". Anyway, he had a son named William John Elliott who ended up in McMinn Co., Tenn. I have all the info from there. Anybody heard of my "Billy"? Jerry, I have information on a Jacob C. Elliott who was on the Guion Miller Roll. He was application # 8833, and was living in Ray Co. Missouri at the time (around 1905). Could he have moved to Missouri after 1880? If so he would be the great-grandson of Arch Elliott, son of John "Jack" Elliott, son of Joseph (1). Betty

I would like to know if anyone connects with this Elliott family, as this is where my Elliott line comes from. I know that in "History of Albemarle County in Virginia" it talks of a William Wood family moving there from Md. along with a John Turner and Thomas Wills, and that a few years later, Michael Catterton, Samuel Wills, John Ward and John Elliott joined them in the same neighborhood. These are familiar surnames in Calvert Co., but the book doesn't list Calvert, it just says from Maryland. Thanks for the posting Harry, as it's another avenue to search. Jan R. I also descend from Isaac, Sr. and Alice (Wilkinson) Elliott, via their son, Moses who m. Rebecca Deulea (Americanized to Duly; though her brother, Maxson, used Dooley). I am very interested in seeing more descendancy information re. Moses's siblings, which I show as Benjamin, Joseph, William, Elizabeth, Isaac, Jr., Alice, Mary, and Frances. For Alice, Mary, and Francis, I have spouses but no children. I have a little descendancy on the others, but am interested in having more. Would be glad to swap .GED files, off-list, of course. I'm glad to see this line being addressed on the list, and will look forward to seeing more.
