I have LONG suspected that all the Wilson Co., TN Elliotts are descended from or related to Samuel Elliott who settled there in abt 1800. His brother, John B. Elliott settled in Rutherford Co. TN at the same time. Then, in 1819 they both moved to northern Alabama - John to Limestone Co. and Samuel to Lawrence Co. My husband is descended from both brothers - Samuel's daughter Elizabeth Elliott married John B. Elliott's son, Robert Elliott on 25 July 1822 in Lawrence Co., AL. -Cheryl Hemingway ----- Original Message ----- From: DUSTTINK@aol.com To: ELLIOTT-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, May 31, 2001 10:19 PM Subject: Re: [ELLIOTT] Ancestry in TN Don't have much anything on TN Elliotts other than I need info on CATHERINE ELLIOTT b abt 1841 married Andrew Jackson Baskin Feb 5 1864 in Wilson Co TN. Posted on: Elliott Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/FamilyAssoc/Elliott/10825 Surname: Bridges, Elliott, Sandefur, Whetham ------------------------- Your headline of names is very familiar. Our families are Bridges, Elliott, Sandefur, Whetham, Morris and Grinnell. Dad is Thomas Elliott Bridges Mom's mom is of the Solomon Elliots. Great Grandpa Franklin Elliott was county treasurer of Cherokee County Kansas when he died in 1912. Solomon Elliott died in 1902 at age 83. One of my great uncles Morris did a great book of the period 1789-1940 when it was published and covers a lot of ground of the Elliott clan and the Morris clan back as far as 1273 in England. Cheers, Mike Bridges, Anchorage, Alaska

Jeanette,,,,,On your note of Tue., May 29th. You mentioned a family reunion near Zanesville, Ohio. Is Zanesville in Muskingum Co. ? I thought it was. My GreatGrand parents and families where from Zanesville and Adamsville. The time frame for my Elliotts would have begun at least by the 1840's. I have only two names: Andrew Elliott and Nancy Crane/Crain. How can I learn more about the reunion near Zanesville in 1875? Ruth J.
