Here is the rest of what I have on Jacob W. Elliott. He was born abt 1838 in Indiana. He died July 28, 1864 in the Battle of Ezra Chapel in Marietta, GA. He was married to Olive Sophia Benson (daughter of Almeron Benson and Lucinda Stanton). I believe his parents were Giles Columbus Elliott and Elizabeth Whistler. I have several censuses for Jacob, and more for Olive after his death. I have done a bit of research on is Civil War History, but am hoping to find more about him. I just visited the battlefield where he was killed and the cemetery where he is buried. I am happy to share those pictures and anything else I have. Susan

Dear Roland, Thank you so much for that beautiful piece. I sent this on to several other relatives who do genealogy, they loved it, just as I did. What a shame that we do not know the writer. It is beautiful regardless. Thanks again, Amy
Dear List, I had wonderful success on this list with finding information about my great grandfather and now I am trying again to find if Thomas or Tommy Elliott or his sister Marcia Elliott, (or their children) have any information about their great-uncle Clarence W. Elliott. Tommy Elliott is the son of Thomas D. Elliott (b.d. 1919, d. Jun 1, 1966, Orange County, CA) and Barbara. Grandson of William Elliott (born Chapel Hill, TN, 1895) and Marian or Marion. Great grandson of James Petway Elliott,(b. 3/8/1851, d. 10/31/1920 Chapel Hill, TN) and America (Mecca) Ann Martin (b. 12/7/1851, d. 1/30/1906, Chapel Hill, TN) Mecca and James Petway were married 3/17/1877. I suspect Clarence W. Elliott may have changed his name to Taylor Waive Elliott once he came to California probably in the early 1900's. That's what I'm trying to pin down. Thank you for any help you can give me, Wren Osborn
Roland, Thank you for sharing this. I just returned from vacation. Traveled from CA to GA to visit Jacob W. Elliott's grave. The first I've visited. It was a moving experience, especially because he fought in the Civil War there. He was from WI. I also visited several of the battlefields where he fought, including Ezra Chapel, where he died. "The Storyteller' was very meaningful to me. Susan
Hi, I am new to your list. I am researching Jacob W. Elliott married Olive Sophia Benson. Jacob enlisted in the Wisconsin 12th Infantry and was killed at the Battle of Ezra Chapel near Atlanta, GA. I have just had the opportunity to visit his grave site there in GA. Is anyone else researching this family? Susan
Thank you for that! It's beautiful. Fran I used to think I was indecisive....Now, I'm not so sure... ----- Original Message ----- From: "roland elliott" <rolandelliott@inreach.com> To: <ELLIOTT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, July 21, 2001 1:11 PM Subject: [ELLIOTT] The Story Tellers > > > > > The Story Tellers... > > > > We are the chosen. > > > > My feelings are in each family there is one who seems called to find the > > ancestors.
