    3. Seeking ancestors and info of -(2)Joseph b1786 Atlantic Co m.Rhoda & son b1827 Burlington Co m.Henrietta Hoffman, his son John b1857 NJ m.Hannah Dunkle, his son Irvin Elliott b1890 NJ m. Vanda Ulm. Elliotts from Burlington, Atlantic, Salem Co's, NJ and Baltimore(?), Md. See family tree at genealogy.com>my genealogy>My Trees and Searches. My father was Irvin Elliott,jr(Millville,NJ). We have had relatives in the Burlington and possibly Gloucester Co areas, but my mother only visited them once, with my grandfather Irvin sr, in the 1940's. Years later my parents tried to find the house, but could not remember location. An Uncle Joseph Elliott and his grown-up children were in the Burlington area then. I have no idea how many children nor their names. My grgrgr-grandfather Joseph Elliott, was b.1786 in Atlantic Co, d.in West Creek, Cape May Co,NJ. However, Elliott relatives, also, must have been in the Burlington, possibly Gloucester Co and surrounding areas, for a considerable while, since his son, my grgrgrandfather Joseph, was born in Burliington in 1827. His children were born in Cape May Co. My grgrandfather John, b.1857NJ, moved to Millville,Cumberland Co, NJ. His children, including my grandfather, Irvin sr, and other immediate relatives are from Millville,Cumberland Co, but I woould like to know of others in areas mentioned. My mother remembers, also, visiting relatives once in Baltimore, Md, during the 1940's, with the Irvin Elliott,sr family, but does not remember any names, nor even location. We moved to Fl in 1999 and will be limited on local Md/NJ research. If any of your Elliott relatives recall having relatives in any of these areas please let me know. Thanks, Donna montage90@hotmail.com

Go to the Jamestowne Society... http://www.jamestowne.org/ There is lots of information there. By the way, one of the Elliotts listed on their page, Anthony, may be an ancestor of the man who built my house, Peter Elliott, in 1816. I have a .pdf file that contains about 17 pages of information on Anthony Elliott (1610-1666) and his sons. Let me know if you would like me to email it to you. Wm. 2. by way of Yvonne
    3. Lewis Elliott (abt. 1755?), married Nancy Wright 1773, in Fauquier Co, VA/Surry Co, NC. I'm GUESSING Lewis was son or other close relative of your Ann Lewis Elliott. Much like the Elliott children, Capt. John & Ann Williams Wright's eighteen "children" scattered around the time the head of the family died (30 Oct 1789). Some of the Wrights went to GA, TN, AL, and OH, but the largest group went to the land sales at Madison County, AT, as Alabama was just opening up the Chickasaw lands above the Tennessee River..We THINK Nancy & Lewis Elliott went to Madison County, but their names haven't appeared there yet. Any help? Al Hill

    1. [ELLIOTT] Elliott (England/Wales>Gloucester Co., VA>Richmond, VA>Lynchburg, VA>Lexington, KY>Evansville, IN)
    2. W. Scott Smith
    3. Hello everyone, I'm researching the family of the man who built my Lynchburg, Virginia house in 1816, Peter Elliott. It looks like his family came to Gloucester County, Virginia in the mid 1600s from adjoining counties in England and Wales. (Possible family members then were Anthony, Thomas, William, and Robert Elliott). The father of my guy (Peter) was named Robert Elliott, and was probably born between 1750-1754. He served in the Revolution, along with his brothers James and Thomas. Peter moved to Richmond, Virginia, then Lynchburg, Virginia by 1815 or so. He moved his family (surviving children were Joseph, William, and Ann) to Lexington, Kentucky in the 1820s. He then moved to Evansville, Indiana and died in 1863.His son Joseph was a businessman in Evansville, and wrote a book on Evansville history in the 1890s. William was a minister and doctor in Evansville. Ann married a Duval in Lexington, Kentucky. I'm hoping that I can find any living descendents of this family maybe still in Kentucky or Indiana (or even Virginia). Has anyone run into this line in their research at all? Additional information on the family can be seen on my web page www.wscottsmith.com Click on "The Peter Elliott House" then "History of the Structure". The family tree, as I have it, is below. I do have some information on those early Elliotts of Gloucester County from the 1600s, and on some Elliotts from Westmoreland County, King William County, and Rockbridge County, Virginia that I obtained from the Gloucester County Public Library. 2. Lorraine Elliott
    3. Folks I'm looking for more information on my grandfather - Marcus Elliott, born in New Orleans in 1894; died there in 1971. He married first in Australia in 1920 (divorced 1925); and then married again in New Zealand in 1927 where my father was born. Marcus' death certificate shows that he was married again (to Anna Mae) when he died. His parents were Samuel Elliott (from South Carolina) and Louisa nee Keller (from New Orleans). I know nothing about Marcus' siblings (although I believe there might have been a sister). Any connections with anyone on this list? I will have the opportunity to visit New Orleans next year (for a conference) and would also love some advice about how best to utilise the time to dig in the archives there - is there anyone on this list connected with genealogical societies in New Orleans or Louisiana who can give me some hints and clues. Lorraine Elliott
