I'm interested in the Elliott families in White Co. I have ancestors that are known to have been in the White Co. 1. Andrew "Jack" Jackson Elliott born about 1872 Spring Place, Murray Co., GA married to Lillie Mae Foster. She was born about 1886 in Arkansas. They had three children, Ruth born about 1910, Naomi born 3 Jun 1912, and Leonard born about 1915. Jack is listed in 1900 Census as A. J. and in the 1920 Census as Amarus both listings for Bald Knob Township. 2. Julius Henry Elliott born 1880 and died 18 Jun 1954. He is buried at Eton Cemetery, Murray Co., GA. He married Isabelle "Belle" Yates 28 Jun 1903 in Polk Co., TN. She was born Feb 1886 Polk Co., TN and died in 1976 Bald Knob, AK. She is buried at Shady Grove Cemetery, Bald Knob, AR. They had the following children: Julia, David "Buck", Jewel Dean, James T., John Robert, Mary Lou Eliza, Bill, Minnie Marie, Ruth, and Jake D. A lot of the children are also buried in Shady Grove Cemetery. I would appreciate any additional information. Richard

Folks Thanks to a wonderfully helpful researcher in the Louisiana State library, I now have a little more information on my Elliott line in the US and an keen to know if any of this sounds familiar to anyone. My g-grandfather, Samuel Douglas Elliott, was born in South Carolina c.1854 and married Louisa Keller (possibly also known as Elizabetha Margreta) in New Orleans in 1893. They had at least three children - Marcus (my grandfather), Mary and John(?). Samuel's mother was Mary A. Douglas from Virginia. His father came to South Carolina from Scotland: father's name is not clear on the material I have but it looks as if the first name begins with N. The second initial was J. Any information most welcome (as well as any advice on how to chase up certificates in South Carolina!). My g-g-grandfather, Samuel Elliott, was born in South Carolina (but not the same as the one you mention - he was Samuel Douglas Elliott and was born, I think, in about 1854). But his father, whose name is not clear on the certificate I have, came from Scotland. If I manage, from the distance of Australia, to track down the father's name and can find out more information about where he came from in Scotland, I'll let you know.
