I have Robert T. Elliott (4th g-grandfather), b. SC or NC in 1755, d. 1833 in Knox County, IN, m. Jane Love. He came into Knox County with some Quaker families (Hollingsworth, Sartor) from Anson Co., NC>Union Co., SC. They (with other families) arrived in Knox County, IN in about 1805. Robert T. Elliott's son, Robert S. Elliott, married Elizabeth (Sibbie) Hollingsworth in Knox County. Could we have some common ancestors? Thanks.

Robert T. Elliott was my 4th g-grandfather. He was b. in 1755, in either NC or in Chester or Union Counties, SC, d. 1833 in Knox Co., IN. m. Jane Love. I have some land records for him in Chester and Union Counties in SC, I think one mentions Fishing Creek. At various times, these 2 counties were part of NC. Robert T. Elliott moved to IN with other families from around Union County, SC and Anson County, NC (i.e. Hollingsworth, Sartor). I also think he may have sserved in the Rev. Army under Capt. Gaston but not sure - yet. Thanks.

I'm looking for the parents and siblings of Daniel ELLETT.... I know that he was living in Fleming Co.KY after he was in the War of 1812: War of 1812: Daniel Ellett, a Private, under Capt. Geo. Matthews, Lt. Col. Robt. Pogue, 4th Reg't. Ky. Volunteer Militia. 21 Oct 1813, he was married in Fleming Co.KY to Sarah ELLETT believed to be his cousin....she being the daughter of Edward ELLETT Sr. b. ca1760...the person Ellettsville, IN was named after. By 1820 Daniel and Sarah and their children were living in Owen Co.IN and that is where he died in 1840. I printed it out so I can put it into my MAYHUGH book. It is slow going finding info. on my 1st great grandfather, Asa MAYHUGH, Jr., son of Asa MAYHUGH, Sr.. Asa Jr., from the info you sent is the nephew of you 2nd great grandfather, James MAYHUGH. I have learned (documentated) that Asa Jr. wed 3 times. #1 Ida Hull in Meigs Co., Ohio, #2 Ada nee HOLEMAN ( Asa Jr. was Ada's 2nd marriage so she probably wed Asa under a different surname. No marriage record has been found for Asa & Ada thus far), #3 Eliz. ? (I found Asa Jr. & this Eliz. on the Indiana Fed. Census soundex for 1900 or 1910 (don't have the info. in front of me just now) in Marion Co.. This Eliz. was listed as a boarder as Eliz. Powers. On the marriage record for Asa & Eliz.( wed in June 1912 in Marion Co., Ind.) it has a different surname for this Eliz., but I have not been able to make out what the name is, nor have others been able to make it out. Asa and Eliz. are not on the Indiana Fed. Census soundex in 1920. I have sent for the 1920 Ohio Fed. Census soundex hoping to find them in Ohio. My darling grandmother, Dessie, b. June 1896 in Indianapolis, Indiana, d. 17 Nov. 1989 in Hemet, Ca. (shown as O'dessa on her birth certificate) was the issue of Asa & Ada nee HOLEMAN. She was an only child. I have pictures of Ada, Asa, "Dessie" and what looks like a MAYHUGH or HOLEMAN family reunion. I've had to date most of them from scant info. on the back of the photos. I know from these photos that Asa MAYHUGH was alive in 1934/5 from a photo showing him holding my elder brother who was born in 1934.
