Willis and his wife Adeline Harris, came to Holt County, Nebraska prior to the birth of their third daughter Edna Francis Elliott in 1885 on Eagle Creek near Turner where their fourth daughter, Margie Chloe Elliott was born. There were two older daughters Nellie Florence and Jessie M. born in Iowa. The family moved to Whitewood, Meade County, SD in about 1889. Willis, would be employed as a government scout at the Battle of Wounded Knee in South Dakota in December of 1890 and to have been in Fall River County in 1887 to prove on a homestead and pan for gold. During his life he was known to make his living building sod and stone homes, as a blacksmith, rancher, butcher, among other things. After their divorce in the early 1900s Adeline (Addie) would maintain a home in Anoka, Boyd County, Nebraska as well as spend extended periods of time with her sister Ida Harris Keeler, in Spencer. She was born about 1850, listed as Texas, but possibly Oklahoma? (Indian territory?) America married WILLIAM JOHNSON ELLIOTT in 1864, Oklahoma. America & William are my GGgrandparents. Mary Bagley and William John are listed as born in Kentucky about 1828 and 1823, respectively. I cannot find any birth or death information for either of them. All branches of the family have been told that America was a Choctaw Indian. I cannot find any birth or death records for her. I'm not certain if Mary and William were both Choctaw, or just one of them. Kentucky birthplaces would seem to indicate Cherokee? Help! I've searched through all sorts of records, but I don't know where else to look for America, Mary and William. Does anyone have info on these people??

She died in Detroit on 24 June 1954. Everything I have points to Warren B. Elliott and Minnie Mae Crane as her parents. Also Ruth Elliott who died at age 4 on 19 June 1904 may be Hazel's sister. When Great Grandma died Grandma was not ready to meet the Elliott family. She had never met them before. They came to Hazel's funeral and Grandma didn't want to see them. While chatting with another member of this list, I realized that I had not really looked at the Indiana Census for my Abraham Elliott. In 1820 just as I expected there was not an Abraham Elliott in Ohio. He had already moved to Indiana. In 1820 there is only one Abraham Elliott. But he was not in Vigo County with his daughter and son-in-law as I had expected. This Abraham Elliott was in Wayne County, Indiana. He had quite a large household still and was himself 26-45. There does not seem to be a wife living with him. It is possible that this is my man. Wayne County involved moving practically just across the border in Indiana from where he was living before. Does anyone on the list claim this Abraham Elliott? Do you know anything about him? By 1830 there are two Abraham Elliotts in Indiana. One in Clark county who has mostly young children and is only 30-40. He is not likely to be my man. The other is in Henry County. He is likely to be the same man who was in Wayne county the census before as it is only one county to the west and the family has aged about right since 1820. This time he does seem to have a wife in the household. Next door is Stephen Elliott who is very likely to be a son as he is 20-30 and has a small family. One confusing item is that there is a female 10-15 in the household. Anyone know these people? marsha in WV

List, Thomas Elliott born abt 1610 in Ogur, Essex County, England married Sarah Tinsley of Ogur parents of both unknown. They ended up in Middlesex, VA and their daughter, Sarah Tinsley married Robert George of Isle of Wight. Does anyone know anything about this Elliott family? W.L. Barker
