    3. My Elliott is my grandmother Jennie V,born July 2, 1896, died June 24, 1971, her parents were Srildia Ann Broadhurst and Samuel Elliott. Srildia was Samuel's second wife, his first died in childbirth in Georgia (I think). There were several children, the ones I know for sure are William, Robert and Eull (sp) also known as Eucher. I'd like any information on any other siblings if anyone knows this family. Thanks and happy hunting everyone, Lisa Boehm

    3. What a flood of good responses! So many ELLIOTTs to choose from. My g-g-g-grandfather was Thomas Elliott, born abt 1805 somewhere in PA. He married Anna unk and raised his family in Stark Cty, OH. Thomas may have followed his son, Daniel to IN. According to our family legend, his children were: William ELLIOTT b. 1832 Daniel ELLIOTT b. 15/08/1836, d. 22/07/1897 Elkhart Cty, IN Lucy Austin ELLIOTT b. 1839 Melissa ELLIOTT b. 1840 Nancy ELLIOTT b. 1841 Henry ELLIOTT b. 1841 Erica ELLIOTT b. 1851 Mary Ann ELLIOTT b. 1860 (The last two dates do look odd) Daniel was my g-g-grandfather. He married Cynthia LARIMER (b. 16/12/1836 Fairfield Cty, OH d. 08/10/1894 Elkhart Cty, IN) on 02/07/1857 in Elkhart Cty, IN. They had four children all born in and around Elkhart Cty, IN:: Viola ELLIOTT b. 1859 Charles Wood ELLIOTT b. 23/02/1862 Clinton, Elkhart Cty, IN d. 13/10/1927 Middlebury, Elkhart Cty, IN Albert U. (A.U.) ELLIOTT b. 1868 Clara C. ELLIOTT b. 1878 Charles was my g-grandfather. He married Mary Martha GARY (b. 13/01/1865 Hawpatch, Noble Cty, IN d. _/08/1944 Middlebury, Elkhart Cty, IN) on 14/10/1885. They had five children of which Dick Wood ELLIOTT was my grandfather. I would very much like to hear from anyone who has any of these ELLIOTTs in their line, especially if you can shed some light on Thomas and his origins. Thanks. Chuck Elliott chukndee@ix.netcom.com

    1. Re: [ELLIOTT] RE: Rachel Elliott (Houseman)
    2. Hello Group, I have been looking, in vain, for 20 years. Looking for a Rachel Elliott, that married a MR. ?? Houseman. They had a daughter named Mary Margaret born in 1827 in Pennsylvania (no specifics know about town or County). Mary Margaret eventually married a William Thompson late 1840's. I am wondering if RACHEL ELLIOTT was a married name and not her maiden name. She would most likely have been born around 1800. I have been unsuccessful in finding any marriage or births for this family. Interestingly enough, the daughter, Mary Margaret had a child born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1851. Not sure if this was due to her husband's work on the river or due to relatives in Memphis. The family eventually resided in Pittsburgh. Any tidbits of information helpful at this point.

Was he born in Prince William Co, VA in 1740? Was he an Ensign in the VA Militia during the Rev War? I think we have a connection here. >> Nelson, No, my William didn't have a son named Burgess. I believe that is the William of Loudon Co., VA. My William only had 3 sons, Nimrod, William and Washington. He had 5 daughters, four of which are Theodocia, Charlotte, Chloe and Eleanor. Mentioned in his will were Nimrod, Washington and Eleanor. Charlotte was dead at that time, Theodocia and Chloe and married well and apparently didn't need the land. Both Eleanor and Washington were minors at the time of his death in 1802. Apparently these two William Elliotts have been mixed up for many years. Anne

    3. My Elliott line came from PA>OH>IA>OR>ID with a few sidetrips to NV and CA, and also back to KY. Here is my line as far as we have it solidly documented. If any of you have anthing to add to this (including collateral lines), please let me know: Ben Elliott (b. 1720) m. Ann Wall Isaac Elliott (1756 PA - 1838 OH) m. Alice Wilkinson (1755 PA - ? OH) Moses Elliott (1793 PA - 1853 OH) m. Rebecca Duly (1792 PA - 1849 OH) Jeremiah Elliott (1822 OH - 1897 ID) m. Artemesia Dearduff (1821 OH - 1910 ID) James Madison "Madison" Elliott (1853 IA - 1912 ID) m. Nellie Grace "Grace" Camp (1872 KS - 1938 ID) Howard E. Elliott (1891 ID - 1967 MT) m. Mary Frances "Frances" Myers (1893 MT - 1987 MT) Howard and Frances were my grandparents. My father is Wm. S. Elliott and I am Annie Elliott Utick. Ben Elliott's surname was most likely spelled with only one "t" or with only one "l", or perhaps one of each or whatever combination. I think the "l's" and "t's" were added according to whim, as I've seen it all different ways, especially with Jeremiah's eight children, who sometimes left off one "t." I am currently very focused on the descendants of my 2g grandparents, Jeremiah and Artemesia ("Arty") Elliott, and would especially welcome anthing along those lines. Many thanks and best of luck to you all in all of your research, Annie Elliott Utick
