    2. So far, all I can find in the one Elliott in Luzerne Co in 1857 and by 1860 in Schuylkill. There is a nephew or much younger brother who ended up in Berks but as to where they were before 1857 I have not been able to find out. Nor have I been able to find out when they came over. It is so frustrating. Jackie

STILL [email protected]@king for information on this boy - age 12: Name - Elliott Elliott age 12 born in NY (This was found in the 1860 July 21st Census of New London township - County of HENRY - State of IOWA. Elliott Elliott was listed in the household of my g g g grandfather's(Stephen is listed also as a widower) son Dwight Abbott ( his children's first names were listed with quotation marks for ABBOTT, but Elliott did not have quotation marks, so assuming last name was ELLIOTT AND NOT ABBOTT. I have found him only on the 1860 Census of that state only. Curious if someone might have information who this ELLIOTT belonged to and the history why he was the in the household of ABBOTTS! Please HELP me solve this mystery. Cliff Vitters South Dakota

    3. My 3rd gr. grandfather, George Elliott, whose wife's mother was a Preston, came from Ireland in 1792 and married Eliz. Henry in Mifflin Co. Pa. in 1806, later settling in Clarion, Co. Pa. The Henry's are said to have come from Chester, Co. so perhaps the Preston's came from there also. Grandfather, George Elliott and that one of their children was named Joseph Preston Elliott but I know nothing more about the Prestons. Does anyone know more about this connection? 2. I am changing the subject line for this thread because many members might be interested in the dna project but deleting the posts because the subject is still reading "Seeking Elliott/Ellet/Ellit family from Norfolk, England". For those who did delete them, you can find them here: _http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/ELLIOTT/2007-02_ (http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/ELLIOTT/2007-02) James Elliott has put a great deal of time and effort into the project and history of the Elliotts. A link to his wonderful web site: _http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~gallgaedhil/elliott_border_reivers_d na.htm_ (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~gallgaedhil/elliott_border_reivers_dna.htm) I would like to encourage all Elliott researchers to be involved with the project. You may not have a male Elliott from your line to do a ydna test, but you could have the information to help link together some of the matches/lines. If your line has died out or you only have a female Elliott name, you can check the project periodically to see if a male Elliott who has ancestors in the same location as your family has done a test and contact them. Many times it was the females who carried bibles, photos, information, etc. through the generations. Donna ky3td
