Although I don't have the people you're searching for, I have a feeling my husband's grandmother's family might be helpful. I don't know if my sister-in-law monitors this list, but I'll forward your query to her, in the event she may have more info. Hope this helps someone. I find only one reference to any of these persons past 1910... In 1917 Harry Lee Elliott, who was born Nov 15 1891 (slightly off the census date), in Portland, Oregon, was living and working for Ross & Howard in Vancouver BC, though he gave his home address as Seattle. He gave his father's birthplace as Morning Sun, Iowa. His Vancouver BC address was 2054 Pandora. I'm thinking that the rest of the family moved to Canada.... Does anyone have James William Elliott, 1874-1920 they are researching? I have come across an item that would be great for you to have in your collection, of Elliott's James apparently was a great magician, and is being honoured as the best. Hope to hear from someone knowing this fellow Regards Beth

I was interested in your subject line and the reference to Devon. I recently had my DNA tested and the results indicated my Elliotts were not from the border, but Southern England by way of the Viking Coast Raids. Was wondering if your research ever came across a Daniel Elliot, born around 1630-1640? His son, Daniel, testified at the Salem Witch Trials and was responsible for starting the Elliott family that went to Framingham, MA, to Oxford/Sutton, Ma, Rumney, NH and then west thru upstate NY. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Sunday, April 15, 2007 9:49 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Elliott] ELLIOTT'S OF AVETON GIFFORD, DEVON This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. This post caught my eye. My Elliott line came from Dorchester Co., MD., and my ggg-grandfather was born there in 1805. We may be on to something there, BUT here's another clue....Abel's daughter Susan W. Elliott married William Henry Abbott! I have 12 George Elliott's in my database, but none born in 1800, and I have no connection to Iowa that I know about, but I haven't been able to work on each branch. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Cliff Vitters Sent: Thursday, April 12, 2007 11:09 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Elliott] ELLIOTT, George Allen, Sorry I did not put in age, birth - I think I discovered him / family last night in 1850 census - born in Maryland - He was 50, so birth 1800. George is a very popular name in my Elliott family, who came from County Donegal, Ireland. My grandmother's brother was James George Elliott, called George, who arrived in Portland, Maine in 1913 and moved to the St. Catharines area of Ontario, Canada. Her uncle was also George, a younger brother of her father, who lived in Union City, New Jersey and had two daughters named Martha & Doris. My earliest George was born in 1832 and married to Isabella Hilliard. I have six other Georges, if anyone is interest in the Elliott family of Ireland. - Jane >From: "Cliff Vitters" <[email protected]> >Reply-To: [email protected] >To: <[email protected]> >Subject: Re: [Elliott] ELLIOTT, George >Date: Thu, 12 Apr 2007 11:08:33 -0500 > >Allen, >Sorry I did not put in age, birth - I think I discovered him / family last >night in 1850 census - born in Maryland - He was 50, so birth 1800. >I am trying to connect a >Elliott Elliott from 1860 census New London, IA - Henry Co living in the >household of my g g g grandfather's son Dwight Abbott -- Elliott is listed >as age 12 born in NY - That's all the info on Elliott.
