    3. Hi, This new source of information for the period 1369 to 1453 is searchable on line - http://www.icmacentre.ac.uk/soldier/database/ As the Lincolnshire Elkington family served in the Wars, and appear to have had a feudal link with the House of Lancaster, erstwhile monarchs of England ---- However, handwriting, trasncription, spelling and name variants do not reveal the name "Elki(y)n(g)ton. There are Elnyngton, Edyngdone*, Eketon, Ekyngton etc. Another explanation for the apparent lack of a solid record is the rank/status of the soldiers in the database. The Elkynton of Lincolnshire were of a higher rank - AFIK TIP - when searching by surname, use wild cards - e.g. S* finds all surnames with S, Si* etc SSS* etc. * a man from Northamptonshire ? At the time the village was Eltington and variants (not Elkington). Have fun. Don
