I thought I had looked everywhere but obviously not. I am trying to get all my records straight so that helps tremendously. I found him living with his Grandmother Ann Elkington aged 80 and his Aunt Sarah Shrewsbury [nee elkington] in the 1871 census. As I couldn't find his parents either I was a bit mystified.
