Hi All Elkingtons, At last I have the Story of our second World War hero. _http://www.elkingtonfamily.com/JohnFrancisDurham.pdf_ (http://www.elkingtonfamily.com/JohnFrancisDurham.pdf) I hope that you enjoy reading it. Regards JUDY ELKINGTON www.elkingtonfamily.com Elkington@rootsweb.com
That is terrific thanks Judy. Interesting career. I note he was in Calcutta. I wonder if he met Flt Lt Don Gammage RAAF who flew as a navigator on Sunderlands out of Calcutta on Submarine watch. Our family has several war hero servicemen across the services including a family of Dalziel who record, one VC, one MC and one MM - all WWI AIF out of Western Australia.
