Hi everyone, I thought you might be interested in the story about the lion and Bwana Elkington. He was kept by Jim Elkington [James Llewellyn Meredith Elkington] his Wife Rachel and their daughter, Margaret. He was kept as a pet with them in Kenya until he was an adult Lion. He seemed to be able to roam free but one day a girl visitor made the mistake or running away and he chased her and brought her down. From that day on he was caged and only shot when Jim died in 1925. Try reading "West with the Night" by Beryl Markham where that and other tales of our family are found.
