Hi Judy I remember sending you my Elkington file some years ago, but it has developed a bit since. Obviously it contains non-Elkingtons of interest to me but outsde your remit, but in case it has anything of use I am sending the current version to direct. There are no bits I wish or have been asked to keep confidential. Hi all Elkingtons, This is the last chance to send me your updated trees from 1850 to the present or where ever you wish me to show. I am now working hard to put all my notes together for the Record Office, the Society of Genealogist and GOONS. Please write to me as soon as possible before it is too late to add them. Hi, I am working on a series of records which will be put into the Warwickshire Record Office and also the Society of Genealogist in London. If any of you have sent me information about children or parents that you not wish me to include please let me know. They will not include personal details anyway only date of birth and county which they were born in, which could be a great help to future genealogists. Hi everyone, I thought you might be interested in the story about the lion and Bwana Elkington. He was kept by Jim Elkington [James Llewellyn Meredith Elkington] his Wife Rachel and their daughter, Margaret. He was kept as a pet with them in Kenya until he was an adult Lion. He seemed to be able to roam free but one day a girl visitor made the mistake or running away and he chased her and brought her down. From that day on he was caged and only shot when Jim died in 1925. Try reading "West with the Night" by Beryl Markham where that and other tales of our family are found. Hi, Just to advise you all that the completed list of Warwickshire Branch I by AEHE and myself has now been updated and accepted by the Warwickshire Record Office. I shall be working on the other branches shortly. I am sure if you are near the WRO in the future you could ask to view them. As you know the first one called EARLY GENERATIONS is on the Website and will tell you who founded your branch. _www.elkingtonfamily.com_ (http://www.elkingtonfamily.com) Back to the Grindstone, Regards JUDY ELKINGTON _www.elkingtonfamily.com_ (http://www.elkingtonfamily.com/)

Judy I was in New Zealand earlier this year - I discovered a branch of the Dixon family had moved there. I'll ask my cousin who has close links with the Maoris and is interested in their history to see if he can suggest anything Chris On Thursday, June 10, 2010, at 01:28AM, "Ian" <iang@grapevine.com.au> wrote: >As an Aussie I searched Judy but so far no luck.
