Judy The only Elkington immigration record I can find in the period you mention is Charles Elkington and his wife who appear in the Kingston Ontario Immigration Agent's list on 7 April 1862: they are said to be headed for Frontenac Road and "healthy and responsible; bought land/settled in Clarendon; capital $250; settler". You can read about Frontenac Road at http://www.ontarioplaques.com/Plaques_DEF/Plaque_Frontenac24.html You said "I have plenty of records for Canada and all the children that went with him. He returned to England after he married again and died here." Hi, Perhaps there were no emigration records preserved for this period? If he died in Canada maybe an obituary wil say when he arrived there. Can you trace his wife and other children still in England, maybe he intended to practice in Canada and they were to join him later. From Merryl Wells of Luton, Beds. Hi, I have looked through Ancestry.co.uk for the above man. Sometime after his last son was born in England in 1844 he Emigrated to Canada somewhere between 1844 and 1860 or a little later.. He took about four of his children with him. I cannot find any emigration records to Canada. Are you hoping that the records of his emigration will give his starting point in England? Or do you have any records in England yet?
