    1. [ELKINGTON] All New Zealanders on the list
    2. Hi, I know there are several of you out there in New Zealand, but no-one has replied. Does anyone know how to trace the death of Terewai Grace [Horomona] Elkington, who was the daughter of James Rongotoa Elkington and Meha Huitau Meha, which I am trying to trace for the Curator of the Royal Collections at Buckingham Palace. Is there anywhere I can look or do any of you know where I can get it. Any suggestions would be very welcome. Regards JUDY ELKINGTON _www.elkingtonfamily.com_ (http://www.elkingtonfamily.com/)

    2. Hi Can anyone tell me of Terewai Grace Elkington's death. She was born in 1867 just after her father's death and she married Taare Waitara Charles Servatis in 1887 in Auckland, New Zealand. It is quite important for me to find out as I am helping a Researcher working for the Royal Family. Regards JUDY ELKINGTON _www.elkingtonfamily.com_ (http://www.elkingtonfamily.com/)

    3. Hello Judy, I don't have him as "John Webb Elkington" I have a John born 1772 Stretton on Dunsmore [not a likely candidate - has a large family] and another born 1780 in bath [no details for him]. It would need to be a john born perhaps 1750 + [?]. Where was he arrested and tried? Have a look at the link below Hope all is well. Take care. Best wishes, Ian If you've not used the pilot, you've missed some goodies. There are often images of the documents! I've been working the Chicago documents and used to pay a small fortune for downloading from Cook County--but no more. And the search is cool. 1. [ELKINGTON] John Webb Elkington
    2. Hi, Thank you to all those who wrote to me about this. This is the indictment as it is written. Quote: >>1 JOHN-WEBB ELKINGTON was indicted for feloniously forging, on the 31st of August , a certain bill of exchange to the tenor and effect following, that is to say. No. 1364. £23 Oct. 11th. Birmingham, August 8th, 1801. Two months after date pay to Mr. Joseph Brown, or Order, twenty-three pounds, value received, which place to account, as advised by Spooner, Attwood, and Co.<< It obviously happened in London, however Sarah Webb and Joseph Elkington's son was a farmer of Princethorpe and I don't think it would be him and they were busy producing a family there at the time. You can read the whole story on _http://www.oldbaileyonline.org/browse.jsp?id=t180112021&div=t18011202-1&ter ms=Elkington#highlight_ (http://www.oldbaileyonline.org/browse.jsp?id=t180112021&div=t18011202-1&terms=Elkington#highlight) Thank you all for your help. 3. Seeing that Joseph "the drainer" married Sah Webb, I think that Joseph's son John is a candidate, or one of his sons or Joseph's grandsons, but think John 1772 not a good candidate. However who knows what charges were brought forward for in those days, and any confirmation of conviction or acquital? John 1772 was in our records, an earliest family historian. regards JR -----Original Message----- From: elkington-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:elkington-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of Ian Sent: May 24, 2010 3:56 PM To: elkington@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ELKINGTON] John Webb Elkington Hello Judy, I don't have him as "John Webb Elkington" I have a John born 1772 Stretton on Dunsmore [not a likely candidate - has a large family] and another born 1780 in bath [no details for him]. 2. Hi all Elkingtons, I am finally hoping to finish my Warwickshire Records to be sent off to the Warwickshire Record Office. I have managed to find most families after AEHElkington's notes finish in about 1950 an d have records mostly dating from 1505 to after the First World War and a few beyond. I hav e the full records of Algernon John Elkington born at Sandford St. Martyn, Oxfordshire on 25 May 1883. He was the son of a Sarah Elkington born in 1854, but seems to have spent his life with his aunt and uncle, William and Elizabeth Smith in London. I wondered if he was illegitimate. If any of you could send me more details before I finally finish, it would help tremendously. I would love to make the records as complete as I can. I hope you enjoyed the new entry on the Website showing the Warwickshire roots and first three generations. Each Branch roots is shown by the name from where it originated. I am also hoping to update one or two features like births and marriages. Hoping to hear from you. Regards, JUDY ELKINGTON www.elkingtonfamily.com

The only English Elkingtons in it are George's parents and a few early relatives. George 1650-1713 an d a Quaker, travelled to America on the "Kent" 1677. On arrivbal he was bound over for four years to work as a Blacksmith. He was then granted 100 acres of land. He settled in Burlington New Jersey. Arthur Adams was a reputable genealogist and his fact are correct. I think the other book is all American Genealogy. So do beware of the difference. If you are interested in English Genealogy of the family look at www.elkingtonfamily.com or contact me or the webmaster. There is an Amerrican Tree on this site with American Elkingtons on it for several generations. Judy Elkington Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
