Dear Friends, I am reaching the end of the road for my family research. I have in front of me the daunting task of finding my grandfather's family. My grandfather changed his name at some point from Eldridge to Peterson. We are left with very few facts which I will lay out below. It is very sad for the family that this mystery has not been solved. If you can help my work with genealogy will be complete. Name: Charles Christopher Eldridge DOB: February 20, 1870 POB: Wytheville, Wythe County, Virginia Supposedly had a brother named William and two sisters. Father remarried and he disliked his step-mother. Left home as a teenager with his brother, Will. Was married prior to marrying my grandmother, Jennie Mae Sharp, in Illinois. That is all we know.
