Hi, I am a new member of this list. I have recently learned that my 4G grandmother's name was Fannie ELDRIDGE. She married Thomas HILL who was b. 18 Oct 1798, Waterford, VT and d. 11 Feb. 1873, St. Johnsbury, VT. They had at least four children: Saphronia HILL (b. 27 Nov 1818) Henry James HILL (b. 17 Jun 1821, St. Johnsbury, VT; d. 13 Jul 1916) Cynthia HILL (b. 12 Aug 1823), Emily HILL (b. Nov 1830). I descend through Henry James HILL and his first wife Martha White. We understand that Fannie ELDRIDGE had at least two siblings Walter ELDRIDGE (b. 1793, VT or CT; d. 10 Jun 1871, Middlebur, IN) Joseph ELDRIDGE There is some indication that Fannie's father's name may have been John. Given the fact that Fannie's husband Thomas HILL was born and died in Vermont, I would suspect that perhaps that is where Fannie was born as well, or at least that her family lived in Vermont for some period of time.
