Hi: I am just beginning my research on the Eldred line. I have been reading the posts to the mail list for some time and notice that most of the posts are about the Eldridge line. I have notice a few posts regarding the Eldred surname and am wondering if there are there other Eldred researchers on this line or am I in the wrong place? Some other surnames, some of the one's that I am studying, the spelling varies. The surname may start out in one area spelled one way and even though the person is the same the spelling changes due to inaccuracies. Is this true with the Eldred name as well? Thank you so much for your help. My line is as follows. Nelson Eldred b. 1819 Choconut PA was the son of Peleg Eldred and Sarah Wilson Eldred. He married Elizabeth Cornell b. 1821. Nelson and Elizabeth had a child named Amelia b. 1847. She married Orin Groats. Amelia is one of my ggreat grandmothers and Orin my great great grandfather. I am hopeful someone else relates to this line. I would love to find some cousins. Ina S.
