Bowen Eldridge b.abt.1791 RI and his wife Margaret b.1803 RI lived in Pasquotank Co. In 1840 Census Bowen is listed as a Navigator...Males 50-60...1; Females 5-10...1; Females 30-40...1. Shows up in the 1850 census as Boen Etherage (in the abstracted copy that I have) . Margaret is dead by then. He is listed as a Barkeep. Living with him were Charlotte Spinnel 40, Walter Spinnel 2, Nancy Tadlock 28, Fanny Sawyer 39, Will Harris 30. In 1860 Fanny Sawyer is a domestic in the home of daughter, Frances Eldridge and her husband Samuel Rhodes. Has anyone out there ever heard of these folks????
