    1. [ELDRIDGE-L] SS Death Index
    2. Leila D'Aiutolo
    3. Several weeks ago, I read that you had to have a surviving spouse to claim the death benefits or you would not be in the Index. I might have miss read it. I just read in the posted Index the name of a relative, who's wife had pre-deceased him and he was listed. So, I assume that if death benefits are claimed by any heir, the deceased will be in the Index. <<Leila - are you still with us? I am not sure but I think that I also need to look at Phenix City, Russell, AL and Mobile County, AL....or does this line belong to you. I am trying to separate the connections to Reverend Peter Eldredge/Eldridge and the Pocahontas line that is in Alabama.>> Well, Donna that woke me up. I don't find Rev. Peter in my data base, which doesn't mean much but there is no Peter Eldridge in the Pocahontas Descendants 1985 book either. So, unless he's in one of the newer ones, no he's not ours. I've been bogged down forever working on the William Moseley Descendants books and what an unbelieable backlog of newsletters, I never read before. I've finished Buckingham List and am up to the middle of Sept on Eldridge List. I'm so impressed with the unbelievable amount of work you have done. This latest the SS Index, will help us all for years to come. Thank you. The Peter Eldridge is wonderful. Back to the Pocahontas connection possibility, the name Randolph keeps coming up and both Randolphs and Eldridge have their connection through the Bolling line. There were suposed to be some of these Eldridges who went to NC, so we should keep the possibility in mind. But now that I look I find them in AR, AL, TN, but not NC. Leila
