John, So close and yet not a connection. Seems our families traveled the same route, but at different times. I have two Charles Eldridges, but they were both earlier than yours. My family goes back to NJ in mid 1700s. They moved over to Philadelphia area where great grandfather David Eldridge was born. His parents moved to Salem, OH about 1833 when David was about 6 years old. Ohio Family: Enos Eldridge (b. 1799 PA) & wife Sarah Children: David, Griffith, George, Joseph, Benjamin, Lucy, Alfred, Caroline, & Amos. Children born 1827 - 1846; first 3 in PA, the rest in OH.
