Hi Merle, In the past I did a research project on our Revolutionary Soldiers. I thought they were going to kick me out of the library...I was carrying so many books to the copier..and dropping them....that she came even over and very politely mentioned, "why don't you use a cart?" Anyway, this is still an ongoing project. In review of Nelson's books, I have apparently missed quite a few of them that have not been posted in the archives. I was also surprised to see as to how many are not recognized by their descendants. Since you are looking for a John and I am looking for a John from Georgia, I went thru everything that I had in reference to John Eldred/Eldredge/Eldridge, etc that served in the Revolutionary War. Knowing your research, are you looking for the John Eldridge married to Hannah Buell? I will do this posting separately. Donna
Which John Eldridge are we talking about? I have a John Robert Eldridge (b. 1846 Lee Co., VA and died 1925) as the son of William Eldridge and Ruth Owen(s). Donna your great. Your enthusiasim is larger than you.:-) Yes it is the John who is married to Hannah Buel. What I need to know is the names of his children. I am looking for a Niram or Adoniram. Even then I don't know if that will satisfactorily make the necessary connection. Just keep up the good work girl. By the way my name is Merle W. Kuhn. Although I am not directly related to the Eldridges, My ex- sister-in-law (Mary Phyllis Eldridge) is and I have been helping her try to sort this out. We believe she is descended from William,Elisha, Elishe, Rev.Mulford, John, hopefully Niram to Chester Byron ( who only lived until his son Chester Edwins' birth). I have seen so many variations on the data that I have, I am not sure of any of it anymore. My favorite saying is the more I learn about this genealogy the less I know. I have very little of the original data with me anymore. Most all of it is with Marys' family. Thanks much for keeping me in mind. Merle W.
