Hi Terry, Have you posted further information on the Inn that has a book about Eldridge's that were sea captains...and I missed it..... .....otherwise, I am holding my breath....this might be just what several of us are looking for. For instance - their are several of us researching a Reverend Peter Eldredge/Eldridge and we have received from the Texas Baptist Historical Collection of The Baptist General Convention of Texas, D. D. Tidwell Collection the only clue as to who the father of Reverend Peter Eldredge might be as follows: "The father of Peter Eldredge was a sea captain, who with his two brothers and their families came from Scotland or Ireland to Maryland and settled there about the time of the Revolutionary War. Captain Eldredge and family moved to Georgia, where Peter Eldredge was born in 1780 (sic..we have as being born in 1797) When about 18 years of age he was converted and licensed to preach by a regular or missionary Baptist Chuch under the pastorate of Rev. Jessee Mercer. When about 20 years of age he was ordained by a presbytery consisting of Rev. Jessee Mercer and Rev. Tommy Rhodes, with whom he was associated in the ministry for several years." Please let us know. Thanks. Donna
