Harold - you just posted information on the family that you are researching Lee/Eldridge/Hill/Ingram with ref to Lovard/Louvard. I have brought info out of the Eldridge-L archives also for NC that references the name Lovard. Would love to know if you have connections in Alabama, and how Lovard Eldridge might tie in with Elizabeth Eldridge. There is a Eldridge/Hill marriage in the Pocohantas post - is there a connection there? North Carolina is a difficult state to research. Finding quite a few Eldridge folks born in North Carolina (~1800) but no connections. Leila - are you still with us? I am not sure but I think that I also need to look at Phenix City, Russell, AL and Mobile County, AL......or does this line belong to you. I am trying to separate the connections to Reverend Peter Eldredge/Eldridge and the Pocahontas line that is in Alabama. Other connections to Reverend Peter Eldredge/Eldridge and his Bible can be found in Holmes/Jackson/Bay Counties, FL. Reverend Peter Eldridge is in Sabine County, Texas ~ 1850. Now that is a big state. Some of his descendants from there moved to Oklahoma and Arkansas. I have included the Elledge family in the SSDI project because we have come across a reference that this family might be descended from Robert Eldred and Elizabeth Nickerson (Tudie, are you still with us?) It probably happened in North Carolina. Ha Ha! I am even starting to think that Reverend Peter Eldredge/Eldridge might be an Aldridge. There is a hugh Aldridge family in North Carolina.
