In" William Eldred of Yarmouth, Massachusetts" by Nelson Eldred, he states that William Eldred was b. c. 1618 in Winfarthing (3 miles fron New Buckenham), Norfolk County, England to Robert and Anne (Garnham) Eldred. He emigrated to old Yarmouth, Ma. c. 1642 where he married Anne Lumpkin between 1645-1647 (daughter of William and Tamesin Lumpkin of Norwich, Norfolk County who came from England in 1637). Of the ten listed children, none was named William; the males were Elisha, b. 1653;Jehosophat b. c. 1658; Samuel b c 1655; John; Ezekial; Thomas. The male children of this second generation had no children called William. In "The Saxon House of Eldred" by Nelson Eldred, he states that William Eldred bap. 2 Dec. 1574, St. Mary-at-Quay, Ipswich m. and had Thomas Eldred b. 4 Feb. 1617, d. 1640 at Ipswich, of Ipswich and Barningham, Suffolk, Eng. m. Anna Watson, (daughter of Samuel Watson) buried 27 Dec. 1642, Ipswich. They had five children: Thomas b. 20 Dec 1617 (under his fathers Will he inherited the family home in Ipswich after his mother's life estate; I have been unable to find any record of him ); Charles b. 3 Oct. 1619 m. Susan Bridges 24 June 1629 in Ipswich and had Elizabeth bapt. 1 May 1642 in Ipswich; Samuel b. 27 Nov. 1620 m. Elizabeth Miller 25 Nov. 1640 at St. Mary's-at-Quay, Ipswich, emigrated to Old Yarmouth, Mass. 1640-1641 and died in Kingstone, R.I. c. 1697; John; Mary. The children of Samuel and Elizabeth Eldred born in Cambridge, Mass. were Elizabeth b. 26 Oct. 1642; Samuel b. 2 Oct. 1644; Mary b. 15 June 1646; Thomas b. 8 Sept. 1648; James b. 1650; John b. 17 Aug. 1659 at Chelsey, Mass.; Daniel b. 1663 at Wickford, R.I.
