JOB ELDRIDGE October 24, 1789 Nelson County, Kentucky (Note: Job Eldridge is listed twice) 1789, Oct. 24 - Petition of inhabitants of Nelson County that they are subjected to many inconveniences for want of a warehouse and inspection of tobacco at or near the mouth of Stewart's Creek on the North side of the Beech Fork. There is a large and extensive settlement around the place. The Beech Fork is navigable for large boats as high up as this place and it is within a mile of Bairdstown.
