I am trying to track down all of the children of Martin J. Elam (1840-1911) and Harriet Cross (1836-?). According to my records, he was born in Bond County, IL, and died in Appanoose County, IA. Harriet Cross was born in Monongalia County, VA, but I don't have a location for her death (although it probably was Appanoose County, IA, also). I know that they had one child--a daughter named Pernecia Elam, b. 19 June 1865 (my great grandmother, who I remember well). As single child families were infrequent, I assume she had brothers and/or sisters, but I don't remember her ever speaking of any siblings and I haven't a clue how to track them down.
