I think I finally have a solution for the Great Website Debate of 1999. After checking around, I find that Rootsweb offers the best deal. Although they sponsor some websites for free, they do not do this for one-surname sites like mine. However, for $75 a year, I can get 50 mb of space and not have to worry about our information being "appropriated" by some corporation for its own personal gain. I am currenlty running at 18+ megs using the GED2WWW software to display the names in the database. There is a program I own called GEDPAGE which also displays the names, but does so in a Family Groupsheet format. For obvious reasons, this is a more preferable format to use, but I have been unable to do so because of the huge amount of space it consumes. Hopefully 50 mbs will be sufficient for this purpose.
