Edward's first name could have been Robert and his father Daniel Elam of Caswell Co., NC as he is the only Elam listed in the 1800 Census Index of NC. 1800 Caswell Co., NC Census Elam, Daniel 1m under 10, 2m 10-16, 1m 16-20, 1m 45 and over, 1f under 10, 1f 16-26 There is also a Robert ELIM (Elam?) listed in the Caswell Co., NC Census Index.
