Rutheim, You asked which County my John was born in. One source says John was married to Martha Archer & the son of Richard (b. 1759 m. Phebe) and was born in Chesterfield C., VA. This then takes us all the way back to the first Robert in Henrico Co., VA. Some of this research is speculation & there are errors, so I'm skeptical. Another source, which I am more inclined to believe, says John Elam married a Sarah Adams and was the 9th child of Richard & Sarah Elam. But I don't know a county for this one. Shari Cox
