Hi,everyone. Thank you so very much for all of your help. I'm sorry that it has taken me so long to email back regarding Martha, but a family member was unexpectedly hospitalized last week (but is doing better!), and I got behind on everything. I don't believe that Hiram's daughter Martha is my grandmother (I know that she died in TX in November 1883), but I think that she could definitely be a relative (maybe a cousin?). I don't know my Martha Jane Elam's birthdate. Last night, I went through some family history from the Craig line (her husband) and found some information that I had forgotten that I had regarding Martha: "She was a daughter of Mr. Elam, one of the early settlers and prominent farmers of the vicinity of Salem, Virginia. He remained in that locality and died on the old homestead. His children were James; Frank; Mrs.Martha Craig; and Mrs.Polly Ann Cox, who first located in Missouri and afterward removed to Oregon. James and Frank came to Texas but after a short time returned to Missouri where they continued to reside." I've checked Cassie's website for Martha and the other relatives mentioned here and haven't found them yet. I also tried Gary Corlew's site, but I couldn't get through(it said no URL or something like that). Maybe someone will recognize this family. THANK YOU for all of your responses to my posting. I really appreciate it - the Elam family is great!
