    1. [ELAM-ROOTS-L] Addresses
    2. Cassie Elam
    3. 1. Does anyone have Paul Carter's address (e-mail or snail mail)? 2. This brings me to something I've been meaning to do for a while. I like to keep a list of everyone's e-mail and snail mail addresses, as well as phone numbers, so that when I (or someone else on the list) "misplaces" someone, I have a ready reference. I did this at one point last year, so if nothing has changed, you need not reply. If you haven't sent me your information before, however, I would appreciate it. Please send it to me at my personal address of celam@pdq.net rather than sending it to the list. Thanks. Cassie

    3. I just looked at the data base for Elams. I am a descendent of Lemuel Elam, father of Leah Jane Elam who married James Jonathan Youngblood (Warren County, Tn). I noticed that Lemuel's brothers are listed as Reuben, Jonathan, James H, and John C. His parents are listed as John Elam born in 1776 in Chesterfield Co. Va, married to Martha Archer. I would like to know where this information was found? I have not been able to find any documents showing Lemuel's parents. Also, there are some errors in the children of Harvey and Caroline Read Youngblood. Do you want corrections? Also, do you want all names and birthdates for this line? 1. [ELAM-ROOTS-L] Dora Elam
    2. I have not been able to find any information about Dora ELAM (b.1885-d.ca.1910) or any record of her parents. All I can say is that Dora had a daughter (b.1898-d.1995),was presumed to be married to Fred Lockett of Charlotte Co., VA and died in or near Charlotte Co. Dora ELAM may have been born in a southwestern VA county, perhaps Wise Co. and may have had a younger brother. It seems that the name Dora was somewhat common in the 1800's and may have been a diminutive of other names, such as Isadora, Doreen, Doris, Dorthea, Dorothy, etc. Any kind of information relating to this would be GREATLY appreciated. email: NPVA3124@aol.com

    2. Thanks for the update. I was finally able to find out for certain that my GGGPs were Gilbert and Catherine Cooley Elam. My GGPs were Benjamin and Emily Holbrook Elam. My GPs were Simon P. and Annie Patrick Elam. It did however, list Simon P. Elam as living, he died 9/2/56. Thanks again. Marilyn Elam Lynn

    1. [ELAM-ROOTS-L] YOUR WEBPAGE UPDATES
    2. Cassie, Thank you so much for all your hard work with the new updates. They will benefit all of us and of course, many in the future. I am in search of the parents of WILLIS M. ELAM & SARAH OLIVER ELAM SEAY that are on your list of persons without parents. Will let you know when more info is gained. There are several others searching for SARAH, as well. Perhaps, with all of us looking, one of us will come up with some answers. I trust so. God Bless. Diane

    2. Cassie Elam
    3. Just wanted to let you know I've updated the database at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Estates/9156/elammain.htm There are now 15180 individuals (up from 14096) and 5442 families (up from 5104) representing 2556 surnames in this database. I have also added a section called "Elams Without Parents" at http://www.geocities.com:80/Heartland/Prairie/6831/unlinked.htm This is a list of all of the Elams (and spelling variants) in the database for whom I have no parents listed. This is about 45 pages long, so I don't advise printing the entire thing. If you should happen to see someone on the list for whom you do have parental information, I would appreciate you dropping me a line. Thanks. Cassie

    2. Cassie Elam
    3. I received this on another list - very informative! But always in the case of someone else's research - you need to check out these dates to your own satisfaction. > > In case you ever wondered why a large number of your ancestors disappeared during a certain period in history, this might help. > > Epidemics have always had a great influence on people - and thus influencing as well, the genealogists trying to trace them.
