Hello List: Since there's probably no one on the list that I don't know, I am submitting this for archival purposes, in the hopes that one day someone will stumble across it and see a connection. My name is Celia Hartmann and I am interested in just about any and all variants of the surname that came before 1800 to Amercia. Would love to share information with anyone with a connection to these lines. I'm in touch with various researchers, not just my own particular branch. My own connection looks to have come through Johannes Aegender who came on the Britannia in 1731. The name eventually became Agner, though my line got changed to Egnor. One brach of the line went to Rowan County, NC and eventually Arkansas and Kentucky. The other branch of the line settled in Pennsylvania and Maryland and eventually went to Ohio and the Virginias. We have the circumstantial evidence that says we come down from Johannes' son Ludwig, then his son John, then his son John Jr. It would seem John Jr. had a son named Archibald. Archibald is my GGGGrandfather. Archibald settled in Cabell County, Virginia (now Lincoln County, WV). To date, I have about 1000 descendents for Archibald. But I haven't found them all yet!
