Hello anyone and everyone, I'm in the process of working with several others on the Johannes Aegender (eventually Agner but sometimes spelled Eigner, Eagnor, Egnor, etc.) line. When Johannes arrived on 21 Sep 1731, arriving on the ship with him was his wife Margarita, and their children Katherina, age 12; Anna Kreta, age 5; Henriks, age 10; Ludwig, age 3; Magdelena, age 2; Dorothia, age 6. We have been able to determine who Henriks, Ludwig, and Dorothia married and have a theory on Anna Kreta and Katherina. I was wondering if anyone out there has information on the Catherine Egner who married John Stuckey? If so, I'd love to exchange possibilities with you. I am thinking that this Catherine Egner is really Katherina Aegender, born about 1719, probably in Switzerland since that is where the Johannes family was from. Here is why I came to that conclusion: 1) Our Katherina is the right age to have married John Stuckey, if the information out there on the internet about them is correct (no one seems to be able to offer a source on when they married or the church they used or anything that I can look the information up for myself). Anyway, I think I saw that they had a child John Jr. who was born about 1742 (if I remember right). 2) There is no Catherine Egner in the Johan Mathias Egner line that would be the right age and available to be this Mrs. Stuckey. 3) Also on the internet, someone had that John Stuckey was born in the canton of Bern, Switzerland -- the same canton Johannes was from. Again, no one has offered sources for this information. 4) Another clue, that could be purely coincidental, is that John Jr. supposedly died in Sugar Grove, Fairfield Co, Ohio. This is the same county Johannes Aegender's grandson went to. However, he went there about the same time John died--so he probably didn't go there to visit his cousins, but you never know. 5) The latest item came to me recently. Supposedly John Stuckey Jr. married a Salome Zimmerman about 1764, who was a daughter of Margaret Zimmerman. Our Katherina's sister Anna Margaretha we believe married a Ludwig Zimmerman and we have found the birth records on three of their children, one was named Salome. Salome was born 28 Aug 1746 near South Whitehall Twsp, now Lehigh County,PA and christened 14 Sep 1746 at the Jordan Lutheran Congregation in South Whitehall Twsp, now Lehigh County,PA. Could it be that John Jr. married his first cousin?? I would love to discuss the possibility that our Katherina Aegender is this Catherine Egner who married John Stuckey--especially anyone with sources to back up the information I've found on the internet concerning the Stuckeys. Anyone researching them? ---Celia :o)
