i have to agree with Celia on Rowan co. North Carolina.... this group of Agner's have been very hard to search and to verify down there...Thats why we have been working like crazy over the past year in trying to sort this family out once and for all....We even had problems with them when we were looking for them in pa... due to the fact there was another group of Egner's living in the same county as they were.It took us forever to figure out that we were dealing with two different families all together.... What finally gave it away was the fact that Celia or Carol discovered that one of the sons for Mathias Egner ddnt belong to him at all... This was Ludiwg....for years researchers thought he belonged to Mathis... But he didnt he belong to Johannes Agender.....Thats how we discovered there were two different families living in Lehigh co. Pa with similar names and were finally able to sort these families out to a degree...But Mathias family still needs work done on them...Several of his son's are not accounted for at this time.....We Think that maybe one of his son's Jacob ended up in Rowan Co. N.C around the same time that Johannes and his family showed up down there...Just cant prove it.... WE looked into the famous wagon trail from the NorthEast to deep south....That's how we discovered that several of Ludwig's childern followed this trail... They went from Frederick and Washington Counties in Maryland to Rockbridge County, Virginia.... Couple of his childern went into Ohio and settled...
