Hello Cousin Kerry! There are several of us on the list working on the Rockbridge line right now and the Siders line is one area we could use some help on. We would love to include any documenation or research you may have concerning Margaret and John Siders. We've scraped up a little, but would love to have more! Of course, you would be given credit for being the source of that information! Here's what we have to date. Margaret was the daughter of John Aegender (Igender, Iginter, Eagoner, Eigander, Agner) who was the son of Ludwig Aegender (Aigner, Agner) who was the son of Johannes Aegender (Eigender, Agender, Agner) who arrived in Philadelphia on 21 Sep 1731. We believe he was from Switzerland, for his power of attorney written shortly before his death concerning his maternal and paternal inheritance. Probably about half the subscribers on this list descend from either Ludwig or his brother Henry Aegender--though some of us are still looking for the proof! So you got a lot of cousins here! Including me, I descend from Margaret's brother John. 26. Margaret AGNOR, (John 3 , Ludwig 2 , Johannes 1 ), born between 1775 and 1794 in MD, probably 1788/89. She married in Rockbridge County, Virginia 15 August 1811, to John SIDERS, G. A. Baxter officiating. John was born between 1775 and 1794. John seems to have been a son of Frederick and Elizabeth (Wolfe) Siders, brother to George; Michael who married Susanna Agner; Henry who married Catherine Muterspaugh; Susannah who married George Agner; and Elizabeth who married John Tribbett. John Siders died 16 Sep 1869, aged 78 years 11 months 13 days, Springfield, Twp, Gallia County, OH. If this is indeed the same John Siders, he was born c1791 according to his age at death. In 1820, John Siders' household consisted of three males under age 10, two females under age 10, one male aged 26-45, and one female aged 26-45. Another male aged 26-45 was in their household, and two members of the household were foreigners. In 1830, this family had apparently migrated to Richland County, OH. (according to a John Siders found in census) In 1840, John Siders appears in Marion County, OH Census Index. In 1850, John Siders appears in Fulton County Ohio, according to the Census Index. John and Margaret supposedly migrated to Gallia County, OH, where they are assumed to have died. Further research is needed on this family. Their children follow: 72 i. George SIDERS born 14 Feb 1812, Rockbridge Co., VA., died 14 Mar 1900, Springfield Twp, Gallia, OH. He is buried at Pine Hill Cem, Gallia, OH. George Siders appears in Fulton County, OH in the 1850 Census Index. 73 ii. Mary SIDERS born 1816, Rockbridge Co., VA. iii. Martha SIDERS born 1818 Rockbridge Co., VA. iv. William SIDERS born 1820 Rockbridge Co., VA. 76 v. Joseph SIDERS born 1822 Rockbridge Co., VA. Joseph Siders appears in Fulton County, OH in the 1850 Census Index. 77 vi. John SIDERS born 1825 Rockbridge Co., VA. John Siders, Jr appears in Fulton County, OH in the 1850 Census Index. 78 vii. Susanah SIDERS born 1833 Rockbridge Co., VA. [An Isaac Siders also appears in Fulton County, OH 1850 Census Index.] I think that's about it for her directly. As you can see, we need alot of help figuring out the Siders. We have much more on her siblings and ancestors. Like I said we are in the process of documenting the Aegenders. We hope to someday publish it! Therefore we are gathing as much documentation and information as we can on the lines. We hope to carry it to 6 to 7 generations where we can. Your Margaret is 4th generation. So if you have anything you would like to contribute, we'd love to use it--you will be given credit for the source of the information you provide. If you contact me off the list, I'd be happy to give you an address in which things can be sent, or if you have a scanner you can email attachments to me personally (JPG, TIF, etc.). Or if things aren't in great shape, they can be transcribed and submitted. Welcome aboard, cousin! Look forward to working with you on this line. --Celia, List Owner ----- Original Message ----- From: Kerry <kbhend@accesshub.net> To: <EGNER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, September 20, 1999 7:12 PM > I'm looking for the parents of Margaret Aignor who was born Abt. 1788 in Rockbridge County, VA.
