Hey there.......look what my sister-in-law Dory found........Alexander Erskine on page 153 of the Monroe Census FOR 1840!!!! She found it on Ancestry.com and I checked GenealogyLibrary.com and found it there too. Erskine, Alexander VA MONROE CO. 153 1840 We need the numbers to determine if this is our Alex or his cousin. Ours should have been about 29 then, but then he has given flaky ages for the other censuses. He and Elizabeth would have only had 2 girls and maybe 1 boy then, all under 5.
