A. Mitchell in Dist. aforesaid 4 March 1828 before me, G. Gregory, Coroner, upon the view of the body of Mary Cole then and there lying dead, upon the oaths of E. Mitchel, R. Lipsey, Nathan Vinson, E. S. Gilmor, E. Vinson, David Egner, B. Little, G. Garner, Steven McCollum, Wyatt Galt, Robert Foster, W. G. Lackey, W. M. Gault, Thomas G. Hames, good and lawful men of said Dist., do say that the said Mary Cole did kill and murder herself by hanging herself with a bridle of the value of 25 cents on a chestnut tree. Signed by R.
