I now have the book Capt. Daniel Little Esq. and His Contemporaries 1753-1789 by Pauline Shook. I have enjoyed what I have read. I showed it off at The SC Archives, one employee wants to borrow it, one of his ancestors is mentioned quite often. I also took it to Kershaw County and showed it off at the county archives. I was very proud of its reception. I have not copied all of the microfiche at The Family Research Center yet. There is a lot of duplication, which I would not want to copy and they keep the microfiche at the center since I have paid for it. I had already proved my lineage to Daniel Jr. as far as the Revolutionary War. Somebody asked about that the othe day. Look in the DAR Patriot Index-Centennail Edition, page 1814 Henry and John also, Peter and Silas Shinn are listed on page 1815. I believe John was killed in the first battle of Camden on Aug. 16 1780. Check Colonial Soldiers of the South 1732-1774, Daniel Jr. is listed 0n page 856. Celia, thanks for the guide in the right direction. I could not have found the book or the microfiche even if I do live right in the middle of it all. I had the paper trail but not the story. I haven't found anybody around here that had seen the book and their relatives are in it. Thanks again! Mary In Columbia SC
