    3. Hi, I'm interested in John Egner mainly and documenting his Revolutionary records & his EXACT birthdate - I have many possibilities, i.e., ~1749, 1750, even 1755! I know he was born in Pennsylvania at Lehigh County. He married Margaret (probably in Pennsylvania, don't have her last name!). And, thanks to Celia, I now have the company he served in during the Rev. I had a John who had turned up as listed on the muster rolls - but no record of where he mustered in from! I figured it had to be him because the age seemed right to have been in the war, but I still need to prove it! I have seen the name Jacob - believe he was born in PA. I'll look tonight in some of my vital records files & whatever I find, I'll e-mail to you tomorrow. Thanks for your information, though. Since I see your Jacob's father was Peter, I really think I may have a birthdate on him - I'll let ya know! Thanks again for getting in touch! -----Original Message----- From: DoArbuckle@aol.com [SMTP:DoArbuckle@aol.com] Sent: Wednesday, January 19, 2000 8:19 PM To: EGNER-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [EGNER] Egners in Cecil Co, MD Celia informed me of this list and invited me to post, so here goes: I have info on the following Egner's. Mary Egner and Rensallaer/Ransalear Biddle are my GGG Grandparents. Jacob, died 30-Jun-1838 (perhaps 1828) married first to Elizabeth ISSUE Elizabeth, born 18-Jan-1809, married to Boulden BIDDLE married second on 23-Aug-1810 to Sylvia EVANS who died 27-Feb-1821 ISSUE 1) Mary, born 1-Jul-1811, died 10-Jun-1843, married Rensellaer/Ransalear BIDDLE 2) Joel Evans, born 17-Jul-1813 3) Margaret Ann, born 14-Aug-1815 4) Catherine, born 15-May-1819, died 22-Mar-1821 married third on 11-Sep-1821 to Margaret WILLIAMS ISSUE 1) John Evans, born 24-Jul-1822 2) David William, born 3-Aug-1824 3) Harriet Jane, born 21-Sep-1826 Jacob's father was named Peter and his mother was Margaret. The source of my information is from work my grandfather did about 50-60 years ago. While he was smart and a hard worker, he was not trained as a researcher or genealogist, and there was no Internet for training! Therefore, he did not document all of his sources. He is dead and has been since before I got interested in genealogy, so I can't him questions. My father (his son) tells me that most of the info came from family members, cemetary trips, and from people he identified as related to him through a fairly extensive letter-writing campaign. With regard to Peter and Margaret being Jacob's parents, which was "news" to Celia, all I have is my grandfather's explicit notes on this point. While I have found a few spelling errors and "holes" in my grandfather's information, to date I have found no errors -- he did not write it down unless he had some evidence that it was true. I look forward to hearing from cousins on the list.
