    3. Samuel and Mary are the parents of Samuel Newberry Egnor. At this time I have not followed any other details other than I have looked to try and find them in cemetary lists to no avail. I need to follow them in the census. Perhaps the 1850 census will reveal Samuel's parents. Think I will check it out. Thanks. Jim Davis Richardson, TX

    3. Hello to Everyone, I am a new subscriber to this list and have never participate in one of these so if I post incorrectly please forgive me and don't hesitate to bring to my attention the proper etiquette. I have been out of genealogy for about 3 or 4 years now. Of course once a genealogist always a genealogist and I am always looking. I just happen to run across this list and would see if my interest could be reactivated. My Egner research begins and ends in Marshall and McCracken counties of KY. The further back I can go is Levi Egner who married Martha Edwards in 1843. They disappeared about 1853 and left their son Daniel Boone Egner with Martha's parents. Anyone with any information would be greatly appreciated. My Father Ewing Wilton Egner married Ruth Virgina Burnett Grandfather Charles Egner married Sarah Harper Great-grandfather Daniel Boone Egner Married Sarah Payne Great-Great Grandfather Levi Egner Married Martha Edwards Dean Egner Covington, GA 30016

    3. Jim, I have this information about a Samuel Egnier from that time. The records shown here from the Family Center gotten a copy of, but don't have the information about the son, John B. Egnor/Egner yet. Your Samuel could have been a brother. I don't a name for this Samuel's father. Does this tie in with any information that you have. Could be a fit. Let me hear from you. Celia A. 2. James Agnor
    3. Hi all, I am forwarding my father's (James Agnor,Jr) recollections of our family line to the list. Would it be possible to add him to the e-mail list his address is jamesZA@AOL.Com Just had your e-mail forwarded to me by my son. Several years ago, while my Mother was still alive I did some work on our family tree. Your message read as follows: George McDowell Agner (James5, George 4, John3, Ludwig2, Johannes1), born 9 October 1853 died 1924 On 24 October 1877, he was wed to Louella Sheltman, daughter of Peachy and Mary L. (Hutcheson) Sheltman, E. L. Kregloe officiated. Louella was born 1852, died 1931. George worked as a laborer, a barkeeper, and a farmer over the years. Their children were: i. Edward Calvin Agner, married Reona Conner. ii. James Ira Agner, married L. V. Conner. iii. Harry Bruce Agner, married Nancy Virginia Morris. iv. Earl P. Agner. v. William McDowell Agner, married Willie Estell Bryant. vi. Russell Stuart Agner, married Nettie Lorena Taylor. vii. Mary Susan Agner, married Charles Brawley Agnor. viii. Nettie P. Agner. ix. Annie L. Agner. x. Thomas E. Agner. xi. Robert Reid Agner. I agree with your list except all spelled their names Agnor. Harry Bruce Agnor was my Grandfather and I am sure of the spelling of his name. I believe that George McDowell also spelled his name Agnor but I cannot be sure of that. I believe that I found George's grave in the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. He was also recorded in the 1910 Census for Kerrs Creek District showing age 56, married 1 time, 32 years old, carpenter. The spelling there was Agnor. I think that George's father was James Agnor, Jr., his father was James Agner. My incomplete record show that between James and James, Jr., spelling went from Agner to Agnor. If you talk to people in Rockbridge Co. they still say 'egg ner'. Much of my information came from the memory of my Mother, Leta Beatrice Hickman Agnor. She insisted that George's wife spelled her name Lieuelah Sheltman. The only spouse that I have which you do not have is Annie L Agnor was married to Lewis Nicely. Harry Bruce Agnor children were: James Herbert Agnor born September 8, 1907 in Lexington, VA Nettie Pearle Agnor September 16, 1911 " Frances Virginia Agnor January 30, 1917 " Nellie Mae Agnor May 5, 1921 " Eleanor Pauline Agnor February 13, 1923 " Annie Josephene Agnor May 3, 1926 " James Herbert Agnor's children were: Marion Joyce Agnor May 16, 1929 Lexington, VA James Herbert Agnor, Jr.(me) January 11, 1932 " Peggy Bruce Agnor August 16, 1933 " Martha Jane Agnor November 18, 1934 " In a later e-mail I will give you my children, grandchildren and one great grandchild if you want this information. ----- Original Message ----- From: Celia, Ritch, & Beth <hartmann@bright.net> To: <EGNER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, December 30, 1999 11:23 AM Subject: [EGNER] Harry Bruce Agnor > Hello cousin James! > > You have several Rockbridge cousins on the list! 3. Dear Lisa, I have far too many Aigner's to list here. They are all descendants of Ferdinand Aigner b 1842 Sonnenberg, Germany; d 1924, Mannston, MN. This family lived in and around Green Bay, Wisc., Browns Valley, Wisc., Mower County, MN, Mitchel Township, MN, and Manston, MN. So far I have not seen any Aigner's on either the Egner or Agner list that I have been able to link into my family (or rather my husband's family). I would be interested if any of you know of such a link. Thank you for your help. I have posted my information (sans sources and notes) to WorldConnect. http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=tmaigner If you look at this information and find that you need the sources, please let me know. 2. Evelyn E. Watson
    3. I recently heard about this list and immediately subscribed. My maiden name was Evelyn Egner of Whitley Co., KY. My father was Edgar Mattison Egner who worked very hard to trace his Egner and Underwood family trees. My sister and I inherited much of his records. Sometimes we forget who has what. Edgar Egner's father was Andrew Thomas Egner; his grandfather was John Egner who married Eveline Underwood, one of about 15 or 16 children. That makes for a lot of Underwood kin, but I find more Egners frequently as well. I have been married to Earl Greene Watson for 46 years. We live in Oak Ridge, TN, and are both retired although I still do a little consulting work along We have a daughter and son, both married and living in Knoxville, TN. I had two brothers (one died at 6 months, the other at 55 years of age) and one sister. As I said I have quite a bit of my father's information, so if you have interest in the Whitley Co., KY, Egners, please get in touch with me. Evelyn Egner Watson

    3. Ditto from me too. I have the need to say something smart but thought better of it. Like the man said, "It's better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you are stupid than to open it and let them know for sure". There is a piece of paper somewhere in Ohio or Virginia/West Virginia that list the name of Archibald's Mother & Father dated 1840 or 1841. All we have to do is find it. 1. [EGNER] Oops...
    2. Celia, Ritch, & Beth
    3. Hey folks, on that non-genealogical item I sent earlier.....I guess it doesn't really do anything to help solve any 2000 rollover issues. So if you haven't done it yet, I guess don't worry about it. I thought it changed the way Windows programs read the date, but I guess all it does is change the look of the date. Sorry. Thanks, John for setting me straight. --Cuz Celia :o)
