Hi Celia, I have copies of the muster rolls from some books I found - I'll get to you. One is from a PA book, "Revolutionary Soldiers from Lehigh County", I believe. I'll pull together & send it. Talk to ya later! ----- Original Message ----- From: <DoArbuckle@aol.com> > Jacob's father was named Peter and his mother was Margaret. We do know that the Mathias Egner line of Lehigh County PA had a son named Peter who was married to a Margaretha. This very well could be Jacob's parents. We lose track of Peter and Margaret after their fourth child is born in Montgomery County, PA in 1780. Mathias came from German in 1727 aboard the Molly. Here is a URL to a descendent chart on the Mathias line: http://www.kerchner.com/des735.htm Peter is near the bottom. There's still lots to figure out in Cecil County, but this may be one step closer to proving the line did indeed come from Mathias. --Celia :o)
Hi, I'm interested in John Egner mainly and documenting his Revolutionary records & his EXACT birthdate - I have many possibilities, i.e., ~1749, 1750, even 1755! I know he was born in Pennsylvania at Lehigh County. He married Margaret (probably in Pennsylvania, don't have her last name!). And, thanks to Celia, I now have the company he served in during the Rev. I had a John who had turned up as listed on the muster rolls - but no record of where he mustered in from! I figured it had to be him because the age seemed right to have been in the war, but I still need to prove it! I have seen the name Jacob - believe he was born in PA. I'll look tonight in some of my vital records files & whatever I find, I'll e-mail to you tomorrow. Thanks for your information, though. Since I see your Jacob's father was Peter, I really think I may have a birthdate on him - I'll let ya know! He is dead and has been since before I got interested in genealogy, so I can't him questions. My father (his son) tells me that most of the info came from family members, cemetary trips, and from people he identified as related to him through a fairly extensive letter-writing campaign. With regard to Peter and Margaret being Jacob's parents, which was "news" to Celia, all I have is my grandfather's explicit notes on this point. While I have found a few spelling errors and "holes" in my grandfather's information, to date I have found no errors -- he did not write it down unless he had some evidence that it was true. If not: he and his wife Margarita and six children arrived 21 Sep 1731 on the ship Britannia. The ship sailed from Rotterdam to Cowes then to Philadelphia. If you go to this URL, about half way down you will see a listing for them under the spelling EIGENTER (near the top of the page is a listing for Johannes only under the spelling Egender): http://www.rootsweb.com/~GENHOME/imm3e.htm They are also listed in the book PENNSYLVANIA GERMAN PIONEERS by Strauassburger, volume I page 47, 49, 50, 52, 53 (under spellings Eigenter and Ageder). This book can be found at almost any genealogical society or large library. Some places also carry Volume II, which contains copies of the signatures of when they signed in at port. Johannes signatures can be found on page 38 and 41 of this book. These are the ones I scanned and put on my webpage, along with the one from his Power of Attorney before he died.

Patsy and I were on genforum today working. We came across, in the Smith forum, where people were very upset over a person posting to sell supposedly "original" old old newspaper articles, Civil War letters, etc etc. for big bucks. We're talking $450.00 for 2 Civil War letters. The people are bombarding her with emails and some are contacting genforum to let them know of this person. I clicked on her name, "Joy", to see what her email address was. And along with her email address was an alphabetical listings of other postings she has done. By the time I got through the letters A & B, I had counted 33 postings, so you can imagine how many she's done by the time she gets to Z. So please be aware of this. My concern is that some new genealogist will be taken in by her or him. Hard telling if "Joy" is really her/his name. She says not to post back to genforum to buy these "originals" but to email her directly. BEWARE. PROCEED WITH CAUTION
Hello folks, I got a most welcome email today on the Cecil County line, in response to old query I left somewhere. I have invited the gentlemen to our list, so I will refrain from telling you the whole story in case he joins us! I can tell you it concerns one of the earliest Cecil County marriages, and who his parents are! And the names of the parents sound like a Mathias Egner line! :o) I didn't see any descendent info that matched our known data though. :o( But hey, we may be one step closer to proving the line did come from Mathias! All that remains then are fitting the many puzzle pieces together--gathering all the wills, administrations, and deeds may help fit those unconnected lines together. Happy Day everyone! ---Celia :o)
Kathy, Rockbridge County encompasses Lexington and Buena Vista, VA. It is about 50 miles or so from the WVA line. If you have a roadmap look on interstate 81 about halfway between Roanoke and Staunton, VA. The local genealogy group is VERY active here and there is much info on the rootsweb/gebweb local sites, including a complete cemetery listing of ALL the cemeteries anyone could find, including small family plots, etc. Greer STene ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
Throwing the McClungs into the equation sounds a lot like they ended up in Rockbridge Co. VA., but I can't help you more than that. hello follow cuz's.... i agree with celia2 what she said about celia1.. with out her hard work over this past year we would not have the this mailing list or the one on gen-forum...You all may not no this but she is the one who figured out that there were two seperate egnor/agnor families in state of Pa.. Celia is very good at what she does in gathering up the information and sorting it all out too where it makes sense to everyone on the list... But most of all her partners<eg PA & cs> in crime say Thank You cuz for the good work.... Keep it up and we will find that piece of paper this year on archibald egnor.... later Cuz :-) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I also agree with Celia Lehmann that Celia Hartmann does an excellent job of keeping us "organized" and tries to help everyone find their line in this world of Agners/Egnors.....With having a little one at home and another on the way, we know she's not setting twiddling her thumbs, with nothing to do but try to get all of us untangled. So my hats' off to CELIA........Great job... Carol "CELIA A. LEHMANN" wrote: > I would just like to say how much I appreciate all the work Celia Hartmann > does to make this list possible.
