    3. Archibald researchers: Ever since Dory found that Jonathan Egnor on the school tuition receipts, the name Jonathan as bothered me. Today, I (finally!) figured out why. Back when the clan was in Maryland, the first time John Jr. was enumerated in the census (1800) he was listed as Jonathan Jr. Igender, John MD WASHINGTON CO. 134 1800 10201-0110100 Igender, Jonathan, Jr. MD WASHINGTON CO. 134 1800 10010-2001000 Igender, Susannah MD WASHINGTON CO. 134 1800 40100-2000000 Still can't explain why John Jr. who had already had a son John III "Sly John" would name another son named Jonathan who may have changed his name to Archibald. (except for the theory that Arch was really a son of John Jr.'s third wife from her first marriage).......but of course there was that true story in Rootsweb's Review recently about the family that had two sons, one named Robert and one named Bob! I guess anything goes! Thanks for listening to my ramblings. ---Celia :o) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Celia L. 3. Dear Listers: I just got word about the price increase for records at NARA. If you've ever thought about ordering your ancestors' military or pension papers, now would be the time to do it. I can't believe the increase! I've been thinking about ordering some, but haven't really had the extra money--but I think I'll do it now, as there's no way I'm paying the increased fees! Here's the scoop: The National Archives will be increasing the price of Military Service Records from $10 to $17.50 Pension Records (Rev. War, Civil War, etc.) from $10 to $40 Effective July 1, 2000 ---Celia Hartmann :o)

LEHMANN Subject: EGNER:Calloway Co KY: Nathan Egner's Wife Nancy Carpenter Does anyone know if the wife of Nathan Agner (Son of Peter Agner, born abt 1811), Nancy Carpenter (marr Feb 9 1831 Calloway Co KY), is the same Nancy who married a Harris Alcock March 12, 1845 (Calloway Co KY)? I can't find any records on Nathan past the 1841 Calloway Co Tax list and was wondering if he died between 1841 and 1845. It shows Nancy a widow with the name of Egner, but then I look at the 1850 Graves Co Census has Nancy married to Harris Allcock and she is 36 years old. This fits more in line with information from someone (another undocumented source, I hate those early days of mine.)about a Nancy Houser born ca 1814 (Dau of John Houser and Mary Kerrick. But who was Nancy married too previously that was an Egner/Egnew? I have been going through all my books I have and bring my new software up to date on the sources. I am just focusing on the Egner/Agner's trying not to straying to far away. Won't get much done next week unfortunately because of 12 hour work days. Another 6-8 weeks and I should be able to do much more after I change jobs. You all have helped energized my interests. By the way I have another cousin who has been going gang busters these last couple years. She has done a lot on Burnetts and he's the link address if anyone is interested. Daisy is definitely their oldest child,my grandfather's sister. I notice that she is not on the 1900 census. She may have been married by then. and of course, the 1880 fed. census is missing. So I don't know her exact birthdate, only that she was the oldest. The next oldest child was Mary, born abt.1886. Then Lee b. abt. 1887. Then Rufus b. abt.1890, Earl b.abt.1893, and Andrew, my grandfather, B. abt.1885, and Dona b. abt. 1899. Daisy is a common nickname for Margaret. All our family called her Daisy. We could bever find a birth certificatd for my grandfather. The family record lists Daisy as married to Billy (Can/t read the handwriting very well) Shears? Not sure She had 20 children, the family record says, but their names aren't listed. I have the the other siblings offsprings names, but not hers. I haven't checked the more recent census for them. I need to re-check with elderly cousin and seeing if she can remember who Daisy was married to. Are you related to the Wrights or the EGner's and how? 3. I now have the book Capt. Daniel Little Esq. and His Contemporaries 1753-1789 by Pauline Shook. I have enjoyed what I have read. I showed it off at The SC Archives, one employee wants to borrow it, one of his ancestors is mentioned quite often. I also took it to Kershaw County and showed it off at the county archives. I was very proud of its reception. I have not copied all of the microfiche at The Family Research Center yet. There is a lot of duplication, which I would not want to copy and they keep the microfiche at the center since I have paid for it. I had already proved my lineage to Daniel Jr. as far as the Revolutionary War. Somebody asked about that the othe day. Look in the DAR Patriot Index-Centennail Edition, page 1814 Henry and John also, Peter and Silas Shinn are listed on page 1815. I believe John was killed in the first battle of Camden on Aug. 16 1780. Check Colonial Soldiers of the South 1732-1774, Daniel Jr. is listed 0n page 856. Celia, thanks for the guide in the right direction. I could not have found the book or the microfiche even if I do live right in the middle of it all. I had the paper trail but not the story. I haven't found anybody around here that had seen the book and their relatives are in it. Thanks again! Mary In Columbia SC
